Role: Product Designer
About the Company: Avista is a responsible lending startup that caters to financially unattended audiences. They offer payroll and retirement loans, whose payments are automatically deducted.
Problem: Avista needed to screen potential customers in less than 5 minutes to determine their eligibility for receiving retirement/payroll loans. But a large portion of their users are over 65 years old and don't rely on technology, or simply do not have access to it. This means they can't apply by themselves.
User need: Our direct persona is an Avista Representative. They are highly motivated, dynamic, and growth-oriented. They're trying to find customers on the go and get a commission. To be able to screen their potential clients, the Representative needs to be able to quickly inform whether they're approved to get a loan or not.
Additional goals: Avista's Representative needs a tool to verify the potential customer's identity and then run a credit pull on them. If approved, they need to be able to inform the customer of the maximum amount approved, and the terms and conditions of the loan.
Result:
We equipped Customer Representatives with a mobile solution that erased technology and age barriers and allowed the expansion of Avista's services, which benefited not only our direct users but also a part of the population otherwise unattended.
Avista was among the top 6 startups in Colombia in 2021 and was recognized as a social impact startup, by catering to audiences that couldn't normally access responsible loans.
Our mobile solution allowed Customer Representatives to get motivated and grow professionally and financially.

Design System
Avista went through several rebranding processes during my time as a Product Designer with them. One of my primary tasks involved creating the Design System in Adobe XD, and keeping it up to date with the latest components, and graphic refinements.
